Highlights of the year
Through organising diversified activities this year, students can understand the situations they face in the real world and understand the characteristics of social sciences, thereby broadening their horizons.
Way to Plan, Way to Finance Future Focus: 聯校職涯巡禮

14 students majoring in Economics attended the “Way to Plan, Way to Finance Future Focus: Joint School Career Tour” organized by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and LGT Bank. Students performed actively during the activities. By participating in various workshops and sharing sessions, they experienced different jobs in the banking industry, and further understood the work processes and actual working environments of different industries, helping students plan their own further education and employment options in advance.

A study tour to Greater Bay Area Career Exploration Tour: Study tour in Huizhou and Shenzhen
focusing on commerce, economics, and further education was jointly organized by the Career Guidance Committee, the Economics Department and the Business, Accounting and Finance Department to provide students with a deeper understanding of the history, culture, commerce, economics, and career planning of mainland China. Students actively participated in the activity, gaining a better understanding of the economic and commercial relationship between Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as the operations of businesses and the opportunities and challenges of development in mainland China.


Aims
By developing students’ basic economic knowledge and skills, and an awareness of different values, the curriculum will help them to make rational economic choices for their own lives and decisions on various social issues.
The aims of the Economics curriculum are to enable students to:
- enhance their general intellectual capacity for life-long learning, through developing their capacities in economic analysis, so that they possess the skills necessary for reasoning about issues and making rational choices;
- participate as informed and responsible citizens in the decision-making processes of a modern democratic society.
Objectives
- Develop an interest in exploring human behaviour and social issues through an economic perspective;
- Understand the world in which they live through mastery of basic economic knowledge;
