Highlights of the year

Moral Education

  • With the aims of “Be Disciplined, Love Others, Be Responsible; Be Thankful, Cherish Blessings, and Contribute to the Community,” we coordinated and organized various activities to enable students to experience personal commitment to the community, the society, the country and even the world, and to cultivate correct values and attitudes among students.
  • Held different activities to nurture Value Education Ambassadors and Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors, and pass on the spirit of helping others in C.Y. Ma in order to promote the students’ awareness of value education, and to enable the Ambassadors to improve themselves.
  • This academic year, we will focus on the core values of “Gratitude” and “Cherish” in nurturing our students. As a commitee, we will organize a series of gratitude education activities to help students develop a sincere sense of gratitude and an attitude of appreciating what they have.

Values Education

  • Organized a diverse range of Moral and Civic Education activities, and sought resources from external organizations to enrich the learning experiences of students.
  • Organized various activities related to TWGHs and used Tung Tung and Wah Wah as publicity mascots to enable students to have a better understanding of the history and services of TWGHs, thus, cultivated positive values among students and enhanced students’ sense of belonging to TWGHs and the school.
  • Organized service learning programmes that allow students to go into the community and serve the neighbourhood, thereby fostering a spirit of service to the community, treasuring what they have, and caring for others.
  • Organized diverse environmental activities and promoted environmental protection.
  • Certified by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) as a BEAM Plus Existing School (Version 1.0) “Green School”, our school has demonstrated outstanding performance in the areas of Sustainable Leadership and Learning, and Sustainable Campus Environment, etc.
  • One student received the Outstanding Student Award for Values Education
  • One student won 2nd place in the Hong Kong-wide (vice) panda-themed souvenir design competition, organized by the Education Bureau.

National Security Education

  • Promoted various national security education programs to enhance students’ national identity.
  • 23 students participated in the Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors Training Scheme to help promote the understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law in our school.
  • Fostered cross-curricular activities; i.e. in collaboration with the World History subject, we will conduct workshops on the national World Geoparks initiative (territorial and resource security). We will guide students to visit places such as Sai Kung Bridge Head (Ching Tse Island/橋咀洲), Lai Chi Chong (荔枝莊), and Hoi Ha Bay (海下灣). Through these visits, students can learn about important national resources and enhance their understanding of territorial and resource security within national security.
  • Participated in a living drama production programme co-organized by the Centre of National History Education (Hong Kong) and the Education Bureau. Students produced a drama related to the Nanjing Massacre, it enhanced the students’ understanding of the nation and brought out the importance of cherishing peace.
  • Arranged a whole-school National Security Education Day activity. All students visited the National Security Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Museum of History, enhancing the students’ understanding of national security.
  • Collaborated with our STEAM team to promote Values Education in the school sector by including Values Education elements in Forensic Hunter (Hong Kong Schools Forensic Competition).

Overseas Study Tour

  • Enhanced the students’ awareness towards local, national and global issues through different kinds of activities, and cultivated positive moral values.
  • This year, the Moral and Civic Education Committee co-organized a study tour to the Eastern European Balkans with the Chinese History, History and Geography department. Students completed service learning activities at the Kuterevo Bear Sanctuary in Croatia and learnt about the importance of caring for animals and protecting nature. Meanwhile, the students visited Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, and the Latin Bridge, which was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand before the outbreak of WWI. Through this tour, students learnt to treasure the gifts of peace and life.

Mainland China Exchange Tour

In collaboration with the History subject and the Values Education Committee, we participated in the Nanjing History and Traditional Culture Learning Tour organized by the Education Bureau. On December 29, 2025 to January 2, 2026, a group of 40 students and 4 teachers will travel to Nanjing to deepen students’ understanding of national history and culture, and to strengthen their sense of national identity.

External Communication and Connection and Public Services

  • Our school was invited to be the guest speaker of a talk for the Middle Leaders in TWGHs Secondary Schools on the topic of ‘TWGHs Moral Education Curriculum Extension Project and Professional Development Programs on Teaching Moral Education’, to share with the school community about the arrangement and effectiveness of the value education in our school.
  • A staff member of the school is a core member of Tung Wah Moral Education and helps to promote Tung Wah-based Values Education.

Community Collaboration

  • Promoted various recycling activities and cultivate students’ love and care for their belongings.
  • Collaborated with Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Saint Joseph’s Church and different residential care homes in the district to implement service learning. All students from S.2 to S.5 served the elderly and the rehabilitated in order to cultivate positive values among students.

Mission

  • Co-ordinate and organize various activities, allow students to experience the personal commitment to the community , society , country and the world, build up students’ correct values and attitudes.
  • Integrate Value Education related activities in different subjects, help students “have a healthy life, live an active Life”.
  • Organize exchanges and visits, expand students’ view and guide students to have a reflection of life.
  • Plan assemblies throughout the year, develop students’ character and civic responsibility.

Objectives

  1. Enhance students’ awareness of value education.
  2. Set up environmental group to promote environmental protection in school.
  3. Pilot “Tung Wah Moral Education” and modify the lesson plans.
  4. Co-ordinate and organize different types of events. Students’ correct values and attitudes can be nurtured by having different experiences in individual community, society, country and the world.
  5. Organize various study tours, open up students’ horizons and help them have reflections on life.
  6. Train ‘Value Education Ambassador’, explore the potential of students, promote moral and civic education in school.
  7. Train ‘Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors’, explore the potential of students and National Education.
