Highlights of the Year

The ‘Science Seeking Truth, Evidence-Based’ STEAM Forensic Science Program was developed to promote forensic science and STEAM education. It includes projects such as the Forensic Laboratory, Forensic Helper, and the ‘Forensic Hunter’ Hong Kong Schools Forensic Competition. Within this program, students engage in interdisciplinary learning across various subjects to apply their knowledge to forensic science, covering disciplines like science, physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, visual arts, Chinese, and English. This year, the ‘Forensic Hunter’ Hong Kong Schools Forensic Competition continued for both primary and secondary schools.

Aligned with the school’s focal areas for the 24-25 academic year: Enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness to foster students’ enjoyment of learning. Through diverse STEAM courses and activities, as well as varied teaching strategies, student interest and performance are promoted. Implementing STEAM-related learning activities enhances students’ learning abilities. Schools should adapt teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to suit students’ interests and needs.

Goals

STEAM represents Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The promotion of STEM education aligns with global educational trends, equipping students to face societal and global challenges arising from rapid economic, scientific, and technological developments. In our curriculum, STEAM education emphasises the enhancement of science, technology, arts, and mathematics courses and activities, along with teacher training to nurture students’ creative potential. We believe that through interdisciplinary learning both within and outside the school, students’ potential can be stimulated.
