Subject Features<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our school’s science curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, aiming to cultivate students’ strong interest in science and their spirit of inquiry. Our teaching design is student-centered, utilizing a variety of engaging experimental activities to make knowledge come alive, rather than being just dry theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In regular science classes, students participate in various exciting experimental operations. For example, they conduct experiments on simple circuits, perform acid-base neutralization reactions, and use microscopes to observe plant structures, experiencing the wonders of scientific changes and exploring the mysteries of life. Through these laboratory sessions, students not only deepen their understanding of scientific knowledge but also develop a rigorous experimental attitude and meticulous observational skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, our science activities, competitions, and field trips are also key components of the curriculum. Through various scientific activities and competitions, students can apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems and unleash their boundless creativity. They can also visit science museums and laboratory facilities at higher education institutions, allowing them to experience the allure of science up close, fostering a deeper love for the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laboratory Experimentation<\/span>
In our science curriculum, students actively engage in diverse experimental activities incorporating fundamental scientific principles. These include constructing elementary electrical circuits, conducting acid-base neutralization reactions, and examining plant morphology through microscopic observation. Through hands-on experimentation, students experience the empirical nature of scientific investigation while developing their theoretical understanding. This pedagogical approach enhances their comprehension of scientific concepts while cultivating meticulous laboratory techniques and refined observational skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aquaponics Research Initiative<\/span>
The Aquaponics Research Initiative enables students to manage and maintain an integrated aquaponics system, facilitating the cultivation of agricultural produce and aquatic organisms. This program introduces students to ecosystem management principles and fundamental concepts in natural sciences. Through practical application, students comprehend the interconnection between scientific principles and real-world applications. This experiential learning strengthens their sense of environmental stewardship and ecological responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horseshoe Crab Conservation Program<\/span>
Our students participate in the Horseshoe Crab Conservation Program organized by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong. The initiative involves juvenile horseshoe crab husbandry and promotion of ecological conservation principles. Three student caretakers shared their cultivation experiences at City University of Hong Kong and observed adult specimens. Upon reaching appropriate developmental stages, the horseshoe crabs are released into their natural habitat, reinforcing conservation objectives while fostering students’ appreciation for biodiversity preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forensic Science Education Program<\/span>
Our School actively promotes forensic science education and successfully organized the “Forensic Hunter” Inter-school Competition, engaging over 300 schools. Students acquire forensic methodologies and serve as “Forensic Helpers” in competition coordination. These participants undergo advanced training, including workshops at tertiary institutions and laboratory technique development, qualifying them as peer teachers for competition participants, enhancing both their technical expertise and collaborative capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ocean Park Natural Experience Day<\/span>
During the Ocean Park environmental education program, students receive professional instruction in polar ecology and aquarium maintenance. Through guided small-group exploration, students investigate ecosystem dynamics and observe marine organism behavior and habitat requirements. This educational experience enhances their understanding of marine environments while cultivating enthusiasm for marine conservation and ecological preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
