Moral Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • With the aims of \u201cBe Disciplined, Love Others, Be Responsible; Be Thankful, Cherish Blessings, and Contribute to the Community,\u201d we coordinated and organized various activities to enable students to experience personal commitment to the community, the society, the country and even the world, and to cultivate positive values and attitudes among students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Held different activities to nurture Moral and Civic Education Ambassadors and Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors, and pass on the spirit of helping others in C.Y. Ma in order to promote the students\u2019 awareness of moral and civic education, and to enable the Ambassadors to improve themselves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Organized a series of educational activities about being grateful and treasuring what we have to cultivate students\u2019 feelings of gratitude and appreciation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • One of the students was awarded with the \u201cStar of Filial Piety\u201d by the Taishan Charitable Association.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Civic Education<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Organized a diverse range of Moral and Civic Education activities, and sought resources from external organizations to enrich the learning experiences of students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Organized various activities related to TWGHs and used Tung Tung and Wah Wah as publicity mascots to enable students to have a better understanding of the history and services of TWGHs, thus, cultivated positive values among students and enhanced students\u2019 sense of belonging to TWGHs and the school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Organized service learning programmes that allow students to go into the community and serve the neighbourhood, thereby fostering a spirit of service to the community, treasuring what they have, and caring for others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Organized diverse environmental activities and promoted environmental protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Certified by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) as a BEAM Plus Existing School (Version 1.0) \u201cGreen School\u201d, our school has demonstrated outstanding performance in the areas of Sustainable Leadership and Learning, and Sustainable Campus Environment, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      National Security Education<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Promoted various national security education programs to enhance students\u2019 national identity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Sixteen students participated in the Constitution and Basic Law Student Ambassadors Training Scheme to help promote the understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law in our school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Fostered cross-curricular activities; i.e. collaborated with the History department to conduct a workshop on national resources conservation. The workshop took students to the Lai Chi Chong in Sai Kung and Hoi Ha Wan to experience the unique landscape and coral species of Hong Kong. It helped students to learn about the important national resources, so as to promote students’ understanding of national security in terms of homeland and resource security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Participated in a living drama production program co-organized by the Centre of National History Education (Hong Kong) and the Education Bureau. Students produced a drama related to the Nanjing Massacre, it enhanced the students\u2019 understanding of the nation and brought out the importance of cherishing peace.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Arranged a whole-school National Security Education Day activity. All students visited the National Security Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Museum of History, enhancing the students\u2019 understanding of national security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Collaborated with our STEAM team to promote Values Education in the school sector by including Values Education elements in Forensic Hunter (Hong Kong Schools Forensic Competition).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Overseas Study Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Enhanced the students\u2019 awareness towards local, national and global issues through different kinds of activities, and cultivated positive moral values.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • This year, the Moral and Civic Education Committee co-organized a study tour to the Eastern European Balkans with the Chinese History, History and Geography department. Students completed service learning activities at the Kuterevo Bear Sanctuary in Croatia and learnt about the importance of caring for animals and protecting nature. Meanwhile, the students visited Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, and the Latin Bridge, which was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand before the outbreak of WWI. Through this tour, students learnt to treasure the gifts of peace and life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          External Communication and Connection and Public Services<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Our school was invited to be the guest speaker of a talk for the Middle Leaders in TWGHs Secondary Schools on the topic of \u2018TWGHs Moral Education Curriculum Extension Project and Professional Development Programs on Teaching Moral Education\u2019, to share with the school community about the arrangement and effectiveness of the value education in our school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • A staff member of the school is a core member of Tung Wah Moral Education and helps to promote Tung Wah-based Values Education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Community Collaboration<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Promoted various recycling activities and cultivate students\u2019 love and care for their belongings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Collaborated with Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Saint Joseph’s Church and different residential care homes in the district to implement service learning. All students from S.2 to S.5 served the elderly and the rehabilitated in order to cultivate positive values among students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                5. Organize various study tours, open up students\u2019 horizons and help them have reflections on life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                6. Train \u2018Moral and Civic Education Ambassador\u2019, explore the potential of students, promote moral and civic education in school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
